I fasted for 40 days

So, I was spiritually led to fast again. But this time, I fasted for 40 days.

Usually, I’m good for a 21 day or 3 day fast. But Jesus, FORTY DAYS?!

At the beginning of the fast I had been feeling some very intense emotions. Emotions caused by direct and indirect disobedience to the Lord. I knew that I had been catering to my flesh more than my spirit. I knew that the Lord wanted to purify my heart. I knew that the Lord had more for me, yet I still chose to disobey.

I didn’t fast because of the “woe is me” theory. I fasted because enough was enough.

1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
